UPDATE: CMMB READYING AID FOR JAPAN
CMMB is partnering with California-based Medical Mission Adventures (MMA) to provide emergency assistance to Japan. MMA specializes in providing assistance during times of emergency throughout the world. Currently, MMA’s president is traveling to Sendai, Japan to make arrangements there for a medical clinic. CMMB is on alert to secure and deliver shipments of much-need medicines and supplies once MMA’s team determines exact needs.
For nearly 100 years, CMMB has worked to provide healthcare in the developing world. It has developed an expertise in the provision of donated medicines and medical supplies through its Healing Help program.
Over the last decade, Healing Help has provided more than $1 billion in aid to more than 600 partners in 100 countries. In response to the earthquake and cholera outbreak in Haiti, CMMB delivered more than 500 tons of medicines and medical supplies, in a timely manner, to that nation.

*CMMB will use donations restricted for Japan relief to provide medicines and medical supplies to partners working in Japan as they are identified. In the event that donations exceed funding needed for those efforts, they will be used for other urgent health priorities elsewhere in the developing world.
March 11, 2011 - CMMB ON ALERT: TSUNAMI AND EARTHQUAKE HIT JAPAN AND THE PACIFIC
CMMB works in many countries in Asia and the Pacific that are on high alert right now. When the last tsunami hit in the Philippines in 2009, CMMB was there supporting it partners on the ground. We are very concerned about the disasters in Southeast Asia and are prepared to respond when called.
For nearly 100 years, we have been delivering donated medicines and medical supplies to the developing world. In the past decade we have supplied medicines and medical supplies valued at more than $1 billion dollars to over 600 partners in 100 countries. This expertise allowed us to deliver more than 500 tons of aid to Haiti in a timely manner, when that island nation experienced its massive earthquake in 2010. In 2009, when floods, typhoons and tsunamis hit The Philippines and other countries in the region, we were able to respond immediately, working with our in-country partners. In 2004, we delivered $4.7 million in supplies to Sri Lanka for tsunami relief and channeled more than half a million dollars in grants through faith-based partners in India to regions affected by the tsunami.
In addition, we are on the ground in many of the threatened countries and will be ready to offer support if needed. We have collaborated with community-based organizations and Bishops’ Conferences in many of those countries, including The Philippines, Papua New Guinea and the Samoas.
