Africa Leadership Team Meets in Kampala

CMMB’s Africa Leadership Team met last month in Kampala, Uganda, to celebrate the opening CMMB’s office in Uganda and to discuss regional strategy. Representatives were given the opportunity to share their local experiences implementing CMMB’s programs, which allowed for a rich discussion of lessons learned and best practices.

Men Taking Action Makes Husband a Better Family Man

Phinias Matoto, 34, married to two wives and a father of eight children, lives in Choongo village, chief Chamuuka, Chibombo district. In this area, as it is in many other parts of rural Zambia, the cultural norms regarding the relationship between a wife and a husband is that the role of a wife is to bear and look after children, a man’s wealth and status is measured by the number of children one has with different women, and that discussing issues of sex is a taboo.
