With over a century of experience, CMMB has built secure systems and a trusted network to distribute pharmaceutical donations. CMMB is committed to health-system strengthening and ensuring each product donated is safeguarded through to its intended beneficiary in underprivileged communities in the developing world. CMMB strictly adheres to best supply-chain management practices and has invested in supply-chain management training for in-country donation recipients to ensure accountability to the last mile.

Over the last ten years, CMMB has provided over $2 billion worth of donated medicines and medical supplies to our trusted local healthcare partners in 120 countries.

Making donations

CMMB seeks and receives donations of high-quality medicine and medical supplies from manufacturers in pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, offering a variety of sponsoring opportunities to corporate partners.

Planned donations
Planned donations of specific products and volume allow CMMB to provide ongoing support for our programs including CHAMPS (Children and Mothers Partnerships), as well as to support our partners. By securing commitments from donors in response to specific product requests, CMMB and partners are able to plan to meet program goals for the year ahead and work to establish sustainable sources for product in the long term. Planned donations typically have twelve- to eighteen-months dating to ensure products can be transported and received in country with one year of shelf-life at minimum. This is in accordance to World Health Organization Guidelines for Medicine Donations and minimums now set by many countries.

Surplus donations
CMMB has long partnered with the pharmaceutical industry to place excess product identified by manufacturers through regular inventory assessments of product to be made available for donation before expiry. There is often surplus product that would otherwise be destroyed by manufacturers—instead, this excess medication, medical supplies, or consumer goods are donated for distribution through CMMB’s extensive network of hospital systems, health facilities, and medical mission teams supported with these viable donations. CMMB accepts products donated directly by manufacturers.

In addition to working directly with in-country and NGO partners, CMMB provides healthcare professionals who are preparing for medical missions to the developing world with the necessary medical supplies and pharmaceutical products.
