
Haiti Country Director Dr. Dianne Jean-Francois Available for Interviews before Haiti Earthquake Plenary Session

WHAT: Dr. Dianne Jean-Francois, CMMB-Haiti Country Director, is a role model to the thousands of Haitians who will live with prostheses. She is an amputee herself, having lost her leg in an accident while working. She is available for interviews (see below) and will be speaking at a plenary session at the Global Health Council's Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Before the session, entitled, "After the Earthquake: Towards Building a New Haitian Health System" she will be available for interviews and to answer questions about the future of healthcare in Haiti.

WHY: Within hours of the earthquake, Dr. Jean-Francois and her staff were on the scene assessing medical needs and assisting with the distribution of medicine, medical supplies and providing logistics support for CMMB's in-country healthcare partners.
Continuing nearly 100 years of service to the people of Haiti, Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) has raised over $24 million in support of Haiti recovery. Over 89.5% of that amount has been delivered to the Haitian people in the form of medicines and medical supplies and dollars. Last year CMMB sent more than $64 million in donated medicines and medical supplies to Haiti. Its mother and child survival programs, HIV/AIDS work and malaria programs have resumed, helping tens of thousands annually.
