On Tuesday, January 12, CMMB offices in Haiti were hit by a 7.0 earthquake that affected the 3 million people that live in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas. Our staff were unharmed and are now reaching out to partners and administering aid to survivors. To date, CMMB has distributed medicines at: University Hospital, the Parish St. Louis Roi de France, Center Rosalie Rendu/Center Lucelia Bontemps, Center Petit-Goave, and IHV in Haiti.
Since our beginning in 1912 in response to healthcare needs in Haiti, CMMB has maintained a special bond with this Caribbean nation. CMMB has an excellent reputation among the people, have integrated our Healing Help medical shipment and volunteer programs, and been aided by strong local partnerships.
