> CMMB in the Caribbean and Latin America

In the Caribbean
and Latin America, CMMB has country offices
in Haiti and Honduras, and supports other healthcare programs
in countries such as the Dominican Republic,
El Salvador and Nicaragua. Our operations in
Haiti exemplify CMMB’s
approach. Despite being close to the United States,
the richest nation in the world, Haiti ranks
as one of the world’s poorest countries.
Healthcare is scarce, and what care there is
often comes to the Haitian people through local
Catholic clinics and hospitals. CMMB works closely
with in-country partners and with RISCAP, The
Network of Health Institutions of the Archdiocese
of Port-au-Prince, to provide medicines and care
for those most in need. At the same time, we
strive to build Haiti’s permanent healthcare
capability. Each year, CMMB sends medicines and
medical supplies to local partners via Healing
Help. The CMMB Medical
Volunteer Program (MVP) also places U.S. healthcare professionals in
the region for periods of voluntary service.
This same combination of professional healthcare
and close collaboration with local partners marks
CMMB’s work in El Salvador and Nicaragua.
